About Frisco Tree Service Pros

Frisco Tree Service Pros removes, trims and prunes trees and grinds stumps for homeowners in Frisco and the towns around it on both sides of the Collin and Denton county line. Most of the trees we look at here are younger than the houses people assume they are: Frisco had about 6,000 residents in 1990 and more than 200,000 by the 2020 Census, so a large share of the canopy is live oaks, red oaks, cedar elms and crape myrtles that builders planted within the last 25 years, along with older pecans, bur oaks, hackberries and cottonwoods along creeks and on lots that were farmland not long ago.

Every job begins with a visit. We look at the tree (species, structure, dead wood, cracks, lean, signs of oak wilt on oaks or emerald ash borer on ash) and at everything around it: the roof, the fence line shared with a neighbor, the pool, the sprinkler heads, the alley or the side gate a crew would have to use, and any overhead service line. On many Frisco lots a backyard tree can only be reached through a gate a few feet wide, and that access shapes how the work is done more than the tree's height does.

We also talk through the rules that apply to your lot. Trees on a single-family lot in a recorded plat are exempt from the City of Frisco's tree removal permit, but if the tree is one the city required when the home was built, or a street tree, Frisco's development code calls for a replacement of a set minimum size. Homeowners associations often have their own front-yard tree rules, so we suggest checking with yours before a removal. Oaks get extra care in spring: the Texas A&M Forest Service advises against pruning or wounding oaks from February through June because of oak wilt, which has been documented in Collin County.

After the visit you get a written quote that lists each tree, what will be done, how the wood and brush will be handled, whether a stump is included, and the price. The City of Frisco does not haul away whole trees or large sections, and leaving cut wood on your property or in the street can bring a code violation, so cleanup is written into the quote instead of left to chance. Nothing is cut until you approve it, and any change in scope is agreed with you in writing first.

What to expect

  • A quote line for every tree, with the work, the cleanup and the price.
  • Limbs lowered by rope where dropping them would hit a roof, fence or pool.
  • Oak cuts painted at once, in any month, as the Forest Service recommends.
  • Brush chipped, logs cut to firewood length or hauled away, as you choose.
  • Service drops near a tree handled with Oncor or CoServ before work starts.
  • Payment only for the work you approved.
